Seeking to build a better future through its development framework, One Vision Housing is combatting high housing costs through the delivery of good quality, affordable homes.

Its Morris Meadows development, built by Sovini Construction for registered social landlord One Vision Housing, will bring 149 new homes to the area, thanks to a grant of over £5.8m from Homes England.

Spanning over nearly nine acres of land, 58 apartments will be available through Affordable Rent, with 91 houses helping residents onto the property ladder through Rent to Buy and Shared Ownership schemes.

One Vision Housing and Sovini Construction are part of the award-winning The Sovini Group, which recently received an accolade for its innovative approach to responsible business across social and Governance practices from the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

Ian Mitchell, Managing Director of Housing at The Sovini Group, said:

“Our Morris Meadows development will enable us to create opportunities and change lives for local people, through affordable quality properties. We look forward to welcoming customers into their new homes and seeing them thrive within our communities for years to come.”

In line with the Group’s net-zero carbon commitment and the Future Buildings Standard (2021), the development takes a ‘fabric first’ approach. This approach involves maximising performance of components and materials selected during construction, aiming to reduce energy consumption, such as thermal efficiency and running costs.

Timber frame homes provide a significantly lower carbon footprint. Through the Group’s independent builders’ merchant, Sovini Trade Supplies, PEFC certified timber sourced from Scandinavia, has been produced off-site and delivered prefabricated.

Environmentally efficient specifications can be seen across the new homes, from low carbon heating and sustainable drainage systems to smart meters and charging points for electric vehicles.

The Group’s development framework will see over 1,000 new homes built over the next five years. To learn more about The Sovini Group, please visit sovini.co.uk.
