Magenta Living announces the launch of the Magenta 20 Community Fund, a community initiative to celebrate 20 years of opening doors and supporting communities. With a total of £166,000 available, this project aims to fund 20 community projects that will benefit Magenta Living’s customers and communities.

As part of this initiative, individuals and organisations can apply for funding of up to £20,000 to make a positive impact in Wirral. The project should benefit Magenta customers and align with one of the following themes; Employment, Skills and Enterprise, Community Support, Community Facilities, Health and Wellbeing or Neighbourhoods.

Andy Lomas, Magenta Living COO says:

“Offering funding to local community groups and projects underlines Magenta Living’s vision to create homes full of love, communities full of life and a world full of possibilities. We’re looking forward to seeing the impact this fund makes in the communities we serve.”

The Magenta 20 Community Fund is supported by the Magenta Customers and Communities Committee, a committee that collaborates with the organisation’s Board and leaders to represent local people and the neighbourhoods that Magenta operates in.

This initiative is an extension of the organisation’s existing community funding. Examples of where funding has been awarded previously include Make Hamilton CIC, Future Yard, Happy Times Activity Centre and more recently, UK Unplugged for their Titanic themed family event.

Liam Kelly, CEO Make CIC, says:

“Support from Magenta’s Community Fund helped to start Make Hamilton. But the funding was the start of a partnership which has benefited the community in Birkenhead far beyond the investment of money. Without the support and funds, we wouldn’t have been able to grow to what we are today”

Diana Powell, CEO UK Unplugged, says:

“The community fund has been vital for our Titanic event to take place; allowing us to pay for a SENDCo to support, rent the building, and provide event boxes to go home with. Magenta Living’s support was instrumental to make sure low-income families were able to access this event.”

The organisation is running a ‘Meet the Funder’ session at Make Hamilton CIC. This is a chance for those that are interested in the fund to come along, find out more, ask questions and even get advice on giving their application the best chance.

This session will take place on Monday 12th May at 2pm.

To apply, interested parties must complete a simple application form and have the option to submit a short video outlining their project. The deadline for applications is midnight on Saturday 31st May.
