Across Liverpool City Region, housing associations are continuing to play a vital role in delivering the homes local people need, investing in communities and creating opportunities for thousands of residents.

In 2025/26, LCRHA members delivered over 1,300 new homes across the region. From affordable rent and shared ownership to specialist accommodation, these homes are helping to meet a wide range of housing needs.

Every new home represents an opportunity for an individual, couple or family to access safe, secure and affordable housing. Whether it’s helping someone take their first step on the property ladder, supporting a family to move out of temporary accommodation, or providing accommodation that supports independent living, these homes are making a real difference across our communities.

Investing in our region

Delivering new homes requires significant investment and strong partnerships.

LCRHA members secured more than £56.8 million in Homes England funding, helping to unlock housing developments and regeneration projects across Liverpool City Region.

Alongside national investment, housing associations are working closely with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to maximise opportunities through the region’s Brownfield Land Fund. The programme is helping unlock previously developed sites that can be challenging to bring forward, supporting regeneration and enabling new homes to be built on land that may otherwise remain vacant.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Cabinet Member for Housing and Strategic Planning, said:

“Housing associations play a vital role in delivering the homes our communities need and helping us meet growing demand across Liverpool City Region.

“Every new home provides security and opportunity for local people, while supporting regeneration and creating stronger communities.

“By working together, we can unlock development opportunities, tackle housing need and ensure more residents have access to a safe, affordable place to call home.”

Looking ahead

LCRHA’s are planning to deliver more than 1,600 new homes in 2026/27.

With demand for affordable housing remaining high, this pipeline of development will play an important role in supporting local communities and creating opportunities for future generations.

More than numbers

While these figures demonstrate the scale of housing association delivery, they only tell part of the story.

Behind every home built is a resident finding security, a family putting down roots, a first-time buyer purchasing their own home or someone accessing support that enables them to live independently. We’re not just building homes; we’re creating stronger, more sustainable communities across Liverpool City Region.
