Magenta Living has recently worked in partnership with the Housing First Project to help tackle homelessness within the Liverpool City Region and support those who need it most.
The Housing First project aims to give people who have experienced homelessness, chronic health, and social care needs a stable home to rebuild their lives. This approach breaks down some of the traditional barriers to housing that customers who are homeless may face and offers a home first and support second to individuals.
Over the last four years, Magenta Living has allocated 16 homes to Housing First customers and is continuing to support the project and are actively looking for suitable properties each week. Magenta Living have also recently supported a new Housing First customer who is viewing their potential new property with us and can hopefully begin to rebuild their lives in their new home with the intensive, specialist support that they need.
Rachel Bennett, Magenta Living’s Housing Services Director, said:
“We are extremely proud to have worked on the Housing First project. It’s an important project that is helping to tackle the stigma associated with rough sleeping. I’m so pleased we have been able to give 16 Housing First customers a place to call home, having support and the security of somewhere to live can really help change someone’s life.
“I’m proud of all my colleagues who continue to work on this project and have worked hard to achieve a high tenancy sustainability rate for Housing First customers. It’s truly an amazing project that is having a positive impact on many lives and supports our vision of creating vibrant homes, lives and neighbourhoods.”
